How membrane squeezing works
A four-step cycle turns standard pressure filtration into a drier, more consistent separation process.
Filter
Pump drives slurry into the chamber. Liquid passes through the filter cloth; solids build into a cake at 6–16 bar.
Squeeze
Membrane inflates with air or water at 7–30 bar, compressing the cake evenly for additional moisture removal.

membrane plate types
fixed / Welded membrane plate
The membrane material is bonded or welded to the plate to form a whole. The membrane material will not detach under high pressure.

Custom membrane filter plates
Every application has different slurry chemistry, pressure conditions and equipment constraints. HUSTON’s in-house mold tooling and engineering team allows us to manufacture membrane filter plates from scratch rather than adapting standard stock — so your plates fit precisely and perform reliably from day one.
- By drawing: Send 2D drawings or CAD files. We manufacture to exact dimensions and tolerances.
- By sample: Send a worn or broken plate. We measure, replicate and improve where needed.
- By press brand: Provide your filter press brand and model. We confirm compatibility before production.
- By process conditions: Tell us your slurry, pressure and moisture target. We select plate type, membrane and gasket material accordingly.

From Raw Plate to Precision Filter Plate
- The molded plate is loaded and positioned on a stable working table.
- The CNC gantry trims edges, mills the surface and processes sealing areas for accurate dimensions.
- Drilling and port machining are completed for feed holes, filtrate channels and connection points.
- Chips are removed and the plate surface is kept clean for consistent quality.
- Each plate is inspected for flatness, hole accuracy, surface finish and appearance before delivery.

Not sure which plate is right for you?
Share the details below and our engineers will recommend the optimal membrane plate configuration, diaphragm material and squeezing parameters — at no cost and with no obligation to buy.
- Slurry information — material name, solid content (%), particle size, pH, temperature, viscosity, and whether the slurry contains oils, solvents or corrosive agents
- Target cake moisture — desired moisture content (%) after filtration, and whether cake washing or air blowdown is required
- Equipment dimensions — filter press brand and model, plate size, number of plates, chamber depth, feed type and whether a squeeze medium supply line already exists
